Europa International School is an educational
institution born of the idea to provide for its students the highest
levels of an integral curriculum.
It admits students of either sex, between three
years of age to university entrance age.
The college comprises of a preschool, a primary
school, a secondary school and university preparation
courses.
The school is international and internationalist
in its conception. Presently our student body embraces students from
eight different countries.
Its educational philosophy is described in the
school
constitution. It represents a complete
educational philosophy based on the highest standards and
ideals.
At the service of this idea of an integrated
education are our methods and resources, which are in a continuous
process of renovation and renewal, in order to mantain the best
possible standard in an everchanging world.
Between these it may be worth mentioning the
following:
- There is a reduced proportion of students to
teachers.
- The school boasts an extensive campus amongst
ancient olive groves: 56.000 square meters including gardens,
sport facilities and installations.
- There are forty hours of academic activities
weekly, between 9 and 17:30, Monday to Friday, including classes,
sports, arts both in spanish and english languages.
- The prime educational method is the
acquisition of academic interest and vocation by the student.
- Our ideal of "Education through discovery",
which emphasizes the use of our natural setting and our science
and language laboratories, is a distinguishing feature of our
college.
- The dining room, sports, art and drama in
conjunction with other areas of communal living form an essential
part of our integral education.
- Many of the textbooks, manuals, guides,
information programmes and other educational resources are
written, designed and developed by our teaching staff.
- With regard to languages we believe that
spontaneous fluent communication in various modern languages is a
basic educational principal:
- All the pupils between preschool three
years and primary fourth grade have fifteen classes a week in
English. These hours include various subjects given through
English.
- From primary fifth grade all the students
commence the study of a third language. They may choose between
French and German.
- The students follow a programme of
international language exams. These exams are independent and
world wide, conducted by external examining bodies.
- The college has interchange programmes with
other prestigious colleges.
- The installations include classrooms for
theatre, art and music. Choices of instrument include piano,
clarinet, violin, saxophone, guitar and flute.
- The school day incorporates study hours
conducted by specialized teachers.
- The information science laboratory provides a
computer (iMac) for each student. There is individual access to
the internet.
- Extracurricular activities are important in
the school life. These are multiple and embrace sportclubs, music
clubs, science clubs, art clubs, excursions, classical concerts,
school newspaper, etc.
- Education is seen as individualized and
personalized, each student represents a unique educational
project.
- Our system emphasizes a close school-home
liaison. School agendas, tutorial system and all other
communication canals are individualized.
- Tutorials may be conducted in Spanish, French,
English, German, Portuguese, Italian or Russian..
- There is a complete medical service at the
college. A doctor is constantly available.
- The transport system covers all of Seville and
its surrounds.
